Mars on Earth and Violent Universe


On Wednesday evening, March 7th, at 7 pm, Dr. Pascal Lee of the SETI Institute will give a multi-media talk on "Mars on Earth: Polar Research and the Human Exploration of Mars" in the Silicon Valley Astronomy Lecture Series, at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. Also, March 24th "Crashing Asteroids, Exploding Stars, and Cannibal Galaxies," a full day explaining "The Violent Universe," will be presented from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the University of California, Berkeley. Led by astronomer and popular lecturer Andrew Fraknoi, the non-technical, multi-media program will focus on some of the most exciting (and destructive) phenomena in the cosmos.
